Itinerary
Day 1: Chennai to Delhi – Arrival & Overnight in Delhi
Fly from Chennai to Delhi. On arrival, check into a comfortable hotel near the airport. Relax and prepare for the high-altitude journey to Leh next day. This stop helps break the long travel from South to North India.
Day 2: Delhi to Leh – Welcome to the Land of High Passes
Take a morning flight to Leh. The aerial view of the Himalayas is breathtaking! On landing at Kushok Bakula Airport (Leh), check in to your hotel and rest for altitude acclimatization. Light evening strolls are optional. Dinner and overnight stay in Leh.
Day 3: Leh Sightseeing – Monasteries and Magnetic Wonders
After breakfast, head for local sightseeing covering Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace, and Sankar Gompa. Later visit Magnetic Hill, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, and the Indus–Zanskar Sangam. Return to your hotel by evening for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La – Desert in the Himalayas
Travel through Khardung La Pass (18,380 ft), the highest motorable road in the world. Descend into the beautiful Nubra Valley, where you’ll visit Diskit Monastery and take a camel ride at Hunder Sand Dunes. Overnight stay in a deluxe tent or camp.
Day 5: Nubra to Pangong Lake via Shyok Route – The Highlight
After breakfast, travel through the rugged Shyok route to reach the famous Pangong Lake. The lake changes its shades throughout the day and is the perfect romantic or reflective spot. Spend the night in a lake-facing Swiss tent with dinner.
Day 6: Pangong to Leh via Chang La – Scenic Return Drive
Catch the sunrise at Pangong, then head back to Leh via Chang La Pass (17,590 ft). On the way, visit Thiksey Monastery and Shey Palace. Arrive in Leh and relax. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Free Day in Leh – Local Shopping & Exploration
A leisure day in Leh for exploring local bazaars, trying Ladakhi cuisine, or visiting Stok Palace. You may also opt for an Alchi Monastery tour or cultural evening (optional). Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 8: Leh to Delhi – End of Mountain Journey
Transfer to Leh Airport and fly back to Delhi. Depending on your flight, either take the connection to Chennai the same day or opt for an overnight stay in Delhi.
Day 9: Delhi to Chennai – Trip Concludes
Fly from Delhi to Chennai, carrying memories of high-altitude beauty, peaceful lakes, and warm Ladakhi hospitality.
